What this is

Ringback is a lead-capture and job-tracking service used by solo home-service operators — tree services, stump grinding, pressure washing, landscaping, gutter cleaning, junk hauling, and similar trades. This policy explains what information we handle when you text or call a business phone number connected to Ringback.

What we collect

When you contact a business that uses Ringback, we receive and store:

  • Your phone number (the one that texted or called)
  • The content of your messages, including photos sent via MMS
  • Your voicemail recordings and automatic transcriptions
  • Anything you volunteer during the intake flow: your name, service address, preferred contact times

We do not use tracking pixels, cookies, or advertising analytics on text or voice communications.

How we use it

  • Capture your inquiry as a lead on the operator's dashboard
  • Send you automated confirmation and intake questions via SMS
  • Route your request to the operator so they can give you a quote or schedule service

That's the whole list. We do not use your information for advertising or marketing, and we do not sell it to anyone.

Who we share with

The operator you contacted sees everything you send — that's the whole point of the service.

We also share data with the service providers we use to run Ringback:

  • Twilio — SMS and voice delivery, call recording, transcription
  • Hosting and database infrastructure — operates the app you're reading this on

These providers have their own privacy practices and handle your data to provide their services to us. We don't share your data for any other purpose.

Your rights and opt-out

Reply STOP to any Ringback message to stop receiving SMS from that operator's number. Reply HELP for support.

To request deletion of your data, email tomscott2340@gmail.com. We'll remove identifying information within 30 days unless we're required to retain it (for example, to document a completed transaction).

Data retention

Lead records remain for as long as the operator maintains an active Ringback account, plus 90 days. Voicemail recordings tied to completed jobs may be retained longer as business records.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit (TLS) and at rest. No system is perfectly secure — if we ever discover a breach that puts your data at risk, we will notify affected users promptly.

Children

Ringback isn't for kids. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this policy when our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
